National Aquarium launches junior biologist programme

ABU DHABI, January 24, 2022

The National Aquarium, located in Al Qana, Abu Dhabi’s premier waterfront dining and entertainment destination, has launched the all-new ‘Junior Marine Biologist’ program,  specifically designed to cater to children aged 5-15.

The one-of-a-kind educational and career guidance program will enable students to step inside the shoes of a marine biologist and experience what it’s like to care for300 different species and over 46,000 animals, inside the Middle East’s largest aquarium.

Junior Marine Biologists will have the opportunity to gain behind-the-scenes access through this unique and hands-on after-school activity. The National Aquarium's dedicated staff will guide them through an immersive experience and engage them in caring for the aquarium's diverse animal population.

Children will have the opportunity to assist with animal feedings, enrichment, cleaning, and daily checks as part of the National Aquarium's animal husbandry program, as well as explore the science behind caring for various species. Junior Marine Biologists will also assist in caring for rescued sea turtles from the Wildlife Rescue Program, as part of the National Aquarium's conservation education program.

For just AED350 ($95) per child, parents can enrol their children in the National Aquariums' Junior Marine Biologist program, which includes the three-hour behind-the-scenes access, as well as the aquarium journey. The educational program is available for bookings Mondays to Thursdays from 4PM to 7PM and on Fridays from 2:30PM to 5:30PM. Junior Marine Biologists must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the activity and must be dressed in long pants and closed shoes, to ensure their safety. – TradeArabia News Service
