MBRU records significant increase in overseas student intake

DUBAI, November 17, 2021

Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), has more than doubled its intake of international students in just five years.
 
MBRU, which offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses through its three colleges: the College of Medicine; College of Nursing and Midwifery and the Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine (HBMCDM), has revealed its latest student milestone today (November 17) to mark International Students Day, an annual observance of the student community and celebration of multiculturalism in universities worldwide.
 
In line with its mission to be a global hub for innovative and integrated healthcare education and research at the service of humanity, MBRU has been attracting top-achieving medical students, tomorrow’s healthcare professionals, from within the UAE and abroad, since accepting its first overseas student in 2016.
 
Students have travelled to MBRU from North America, Africa, Asia and across the Middle East to enroll in programs such as Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (MSBS) at the College of Medicine; Master of Science in Pediatric Nursing, and Master of Science in Cardiovascular Nursing at the College of Nursing and Midwifery; Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences; Master of Pediatric Dentistry at HBMCDM, and other postgraduate degree programs covering a range of dental specialties.
 
More than 60% of the total student pool enrolled at MBRU since 2016 are international. And 60% of MBRU’s latest intake for its 2021 programs is also international, spanning 47 nationalities.

To be able to mark it this year by showcasing a significant increase in the number of international students choosing to pursue their higher education with us makes it extra special,” said Ahmad Al Awadhi, Senior Director of Student Services and Registration, MBRU.
