Thinksmart helps FORSATI students gain work experience

Thinksmart for Development and Training helped its FORSATI students connect with big ICT companies in order to fulfil the second part of their FORSATI Project of gaining work experience.

FORSATI is a one of a kind initiative between Thinksmart, Microsoft and Tamkeen. It assists young Bahrainis in earning their professional Microsoft Certificate with the financial aid from Tamkeen, alongside a soft skills training segment as a part of the project in order to prepare them for the work industry.

Ahmed Alhujairy, group CEO of Thinksmart, said: “FORSATI is a special project for students of all educational background. Students in their final two years of university with any ICT related background are eligible to register and earn their professional Microsoft Certification, therefore becoming MCSA, MCSE, or MCSD in a track of their choice. ICT graduates are eligible to take the training as well. As for non-ICT students, the FORSATI Basics is designed especially for job seekers who come from diverse educational backgrounds.”

He continued: “Successfully, ThinkSmart has assisted a few young Bahrainis over the summer of 2019 in securing work experience by signing MOU’s with various ICT companies throughout the kingdom. Student’s CVs were sent heavily to various companies, and some have entered interviews and successfully got hired.”

Students from University of Bahrain and Ahlia University embarked on an internship over the summer with one of the largest ICT system integrators and Apple Premium Resellers in Bahrain, iWorld Connect, They had the opportunity to get a better visibility on the ICT market to help them identify their real passion and guide them to explore their capabilities and areas of improvement.

Moreover, Ahlia University students got hired on temporary contracts to work full time over the summer and according to them, the Microsoft Certificate and the Soft Skills Trainings have assisted them and widened their knowledge prior working, hence boosting their employability skills.

With FORSATI, Bahrainis can now get professionally certified and exposed to employability opportunities immediately afterwards. - TradeArabia News Service
