Bahrain’s Capital Schools to cut fees by 5pc

MANAMA, February 7, 2018

Bahrain’s Capital Schools has announced a discount of 5 per cent on tuition fees as a special gesture in response to the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The discount will apply for the third term of this year and the next academic year, a statement said.
Adel Al Safar, chairman of Al-Safar Group, owner of Capital School, said: "This idea came after the Royal directives that there should be no increase in tuition fees in private schools, concluding the decision of the Ministry of Education to reward high-performing private schools should not be borne by the parents of the students in the form of an increase in tuition fees.”

Al-Safar added: “I believe the private sector should also take the initiative in this worthy cause for all citizens to support the national responsibility to lighten their fees."

Al-Safar called on all private sector institutions in Bahrain, especially banks and large companies in various sectors, to take the initiative to respond to the Royal directives and to bear part of the expenses for students in Bahrain, especially those who are unable to do so, through a mechanism run by a team representing these companies.

Al Safar also called on the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry to contribute through a fund to support the families of small traders towards the tuition fees.

"We, as an educational institution, have decided to contribute to the wisdom of our leadership by giving all students enrolled in our school a reduction in tuition fees hoping that the private sector will also take similar steps in this regard.”

Capital School has two campuses - one in Bahrain and the other in Dubai. There is also a plan to establish two schools in Kuwait, one in Oman and later in Saudi Arabia. This demonstrates our confidence in the economic vision of Bahrain and neighbouring countries, which has also a focus on investment in the educational sector, he said.

The group has acquired a land (approx. 25,000 sq m) in a strategic location in Saar for building an integrated school building, which includes many facilities. - TradeArabia News Service
