Huawei empowers 33 Kuwaitis in jobs training

Huawei Technologies, a leading global ICT solutions provider, recently honoured 33 Kuwaiti graduates during a ceremony held to mark the successful completion of the second season of its annual Graduate Training Program.

Designed to empower young Kuwaiti talents by facilitating their transition into the job market, Huawei’s one-year training program saw the graduates acquire hands-on, cross-functional professional experience to kick-start their careers and drive the growth of the knowledge-based economy.

In recognition of their outstanding achievements, Huawei welcomed eight of the program graduates to its dynamic workforce, as part of its firm commitment to work in partnership with local communities.

Championing the cause of education and skills building to drive innovation, economic growth and private sector development, Huawei’s Graduate Training Program provided bright Kuwaiti graduates with first-hand learning experience on the latest cutting edge technologies and industry best practices.

The trainees were given the opportunity to rotate among various departments to gain a 360 degree perspective, whilst acquiring both technical and management skills. Six participants also received world-class ICT training at Huawei’s technology labs and R&D center at its Headquarters in China, learning directly from innovators and senior Huawei practitioners.

I would like to congratulate the outstanding Kuwaiti trainees for their eagerness to learn and for their quest in ensuring the sustainability of their country’s future. We continue to invest in training programs that enable Kuwaiti youth acquire ICT and market-labour skills and help them kick start their careers as valuable members of the society. By facilitating skills building programs, we seek to not only create economic opportunities for promising Kuwaiti youth, but also to empower the government to achieve its 2035 Vision and transform Kuwait into a thriving regional hub, powered by the information technology.”

Throughout the traineeship, Huawei conducted thorough assessment sessions to provide graduates with real-time feedback and coaching to maximize their learning experience. More than half of the participants received a stipend increase for their achievements and all the trainees who successfully completed the one-year training were commended with a Huawei Certificate of Excellencein recognition of their exemplary hard work. Eight promising Kuwaiti trainees were welcomed to Huawei Kuwait workforce as permanent employees.

Launched in 2016, Huawei’s Graduate Training Program has been a remarkable success having trained 44 Kuwaiti youth to date. It is the latest in a long series of initiatives that Huawei has recently launched aimed at advancing the skills of the Kuwaiti youth and boosting their employability.
