Regional translators seeking to obtain a postgraduate diploma in translation from the London's Institute of Linguists Educational Trust (IoLET), can now sit for their examinations at the first Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) approved examination centre in the UAE.

The CIOL is the UK's foremost membership body for language practitioners and provides accredited qualifications through the IoLET, which offers a full range of professional qualifications for linguists - recognised by government departments, agencies, businesses, universities and schools worldwide.

"We are delighted to welcome Trans Gulf Management Consultants (TGMC) as the first IoLET examination centre in the UAE for our diploma in translation," said Matthias Postel, business development manager at IoLET. "With a rich regional business history, and as a provider of translators' training and vocational courses, we believe that TGMC is well positioned to manage the assessment of our candidates."

The IoLET diploma meets the need for high-level professional translation qualifications all the way up to postgraduate level. The exam consists of three units, available in various languages, and is held in January of each year.

"Increasing interest in the IoLET translation exam from within the Gulf region, and in particular the UAE, has been significant," added Postel. "And since this professional translation qualification is of international relevance, we endeavour to make it more accessible to candidates across the world."

TGMC is now the first CIOL approved examination centre in the UAE.
