Bahrain MPs seek 50pc cap on expats

MANAMA, December 12, 2015

The Bahrain MPs have called upon the government to toughen laws to limit the number of migrants in the kingdom capping them at 50 per cent, said a report.

Expats must not be more than 50 per cent of the country’s population, reported our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej, citing a key parliamentary committee report.

The report, by the committee in charge of replying to His Majesty King Hamad’s keynote speech at the opening of the second term of the fourth legislative session, will be debated by parliament at its session on Tuesday.
