Bahrain to host international education forum

Bahrain will host an international conference on educational and training qualifications.
 
The Cabinet, chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, yesterday approved a proposal presented by Minister of State for Parliament and Shura Affairs Abdulaziz Al Fadhel, who is also National Authority for Qualifications and Quality Assurance of Education and Training (Qaaet) board chairman.
 
The conference, titled 'National Qualifications Framework: A New Trend for the Knowledge Economy,' will be held in collaboration with the Scottish Education Quality and Improvement Agency, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
 
It aims to promote the exchange of expertise and knowledge between Qaaet and various international institutions concerned with the quality assurance of education and training.
 
Meanwhile, the Cabinet approved a memorandum presented by Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa on agreements to be signed during his visit to Singapore, which will start tomorrow (June 10) and continue until Thursday.
 
The draft agreements aim to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as boost co-operation between the Bahrain Institute for Political Development and the Singaporean Diplomatic Academy.
 
The Cabinet also took note of a memorandum presented by Shaikh Khalid on a proposed technical co-operation project with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. - TradeArabia News Service
