Bahrain to review schooldays extension plan

Manama, January 14, 2012

Bahrain's Education Ministry has been urged to review its plans to extend school hours for senior students by 45 minutes.

A comprehensive study must be carried out in one school before reaching a decision, parliament’s services committee chairman Adel Al Assoomi said.

The ministry recently announced its decision to extend the high school day, train teachers, implement new teaching strategies and open evening clubs in intermediate schools.

The project is in the students’ interest as it will allow better academic performance, according to the ministry’s recommendations submitted to the committee, reports our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.-TradeArabia News Service
