Atlas appoints new account director

Abu Dhabi, December 13, 2011

Atlas, an international learning and skills specialist, has appointed Natavan Askerova as its new account director to service clients in the region’s burgeoning oil and gas industry.

Askerova, 34, will drive growth with new and existing clients across the Middle East, overseeing the company’s work with key multinational and state-owned oil and gas companies and those in other safety-critical industries.

Based at Atlas’ office in Abu Dhabi, Askerova will also work with the organisation’s UK operation to develop new products and services tailored to meet the needs of the regional market.

A graduate of the State University of Foreign Languages in Baku, Azerbaijan, she holds a Diploma in Management from the Chartered Management Institute in Cambridge. She joins Atlas from International SOS where she was business development manager for the Middle East and Africa.

Atlas’ chief executive officer John Rowley said: “The Middle East is an important market for us and we have established a solid platform from which to grow. Natavan’s appointment underlines our intent to meet our global ambitions and deliver a step-change in our internationalisation.”

Atlas has transformed itself following private equity investment from HG Capital in 2007. Since then, the business has experienced significant growth and expansion across priority international regions and market sectors.

In the last two years, employee numbers have risen 80 per cent to 75 personnel and its client base increased from 150 to more than 600 companies worldwide.

“Joining Atlas at such an exciting stage of its journey is a particular privilege. Atlas is a vibrant and innovative company with great vision and passion, not just for its people, its clients and its business but for the evolution of the energy industry,” said Askerova.

“More importantly, it has the right people, the right skills and the drive to succeed, all essential components in achieving its global aspirations.”

Atlas has been active in the Middle East since 2009 and has more than 70 clients in the region, mainly in the oil and gas sector. – TradeArabia News Service
