Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec) emerged as one of the more popular employers during the opening day of the Tawdheef recruitment fair on Tuesday. The three-day fair is being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre.
The encouraging response to Adnec's presence at Tawdheef follows the company’s recent announcement aiming for 35 per cent Emiratization by end-2010, for positions identified as being suitable for UAE Nationals, said a senior official.
Adnec’s 120 sqm stand was one of the busiest at the event, with UAE Nationals as well as expatriates, expressing keen interest in building a career with the company and within Abu Dhabi’s thriving Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (Mice) industry, he said.
Hundreds of prospective candidates visited the Adnec stand to upload their CVs at the computer terminals available as well as to hand in their CVs and discuss career opportunities with Adnec staff.
The representatives also gave away gifts to winners of promotions organised by Adnec, the official added.
Adnec has a rigorous and transparent testing and interview process which aims at attracting the best talent and matching them to the most suitable opportunities and is using primarily using Tawdheef as a platform to boost its UAE national workforce.
Besides accepting CVs and conducting onsite interviews, Adnec is also screening select candidates, he said.
From 40 exhibitors during its inception in 2007, Tawdheef has grown this year to over 60 exhibitors representing of the region’s leading businesses and organizations from the public and private sectors.
Presented by the Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, this year’s edition once again encourages UAE nationals, expatriates, qualified professionals and college graduates to explore the emirate’s numerous employment opportunities.
