Metito wins top honours at Global Water Awards 2021

DUBAI, June 17, 2021

Metito, a key provider of total intelligent water management and alternative energy solutions, has received the ‘Water Company of the Year' distinction at the 2021 Global Water Awards, organised by Global Water Intelligence (GWI).

The awards were announced virtually by GWI on June 2 to honour the industry’s greatest achievements over the past year in the water, wastewater and desalination space.

The awards celebrate leading initiatives and contributions by industry leaders who are moving the industry forward through improving operations, optimising performance, introducing and adopting innovative technology and sustainable financial models.

Metito Chairman and CEO Mutaz Ghandour said: "We have worked tirelessly over the last six decades to create a diversified business from both a vertical and geographical perspective with a modus operandi of ‘local presence, global know-how’- which has never felt more relevant."

"Metito’s strength across the full spectrum of its industry, experienced leadership and management teams, digital automation capabilities, access to advanced technology, fully functional teams managing local projects with remote support in areas of design and engineering, have all played a key role in creating a resilient business model," he stated.

"These have abled us to insulate our operations against specific-market downturns - similar to implications resulting from the evolving Covid-19 pandemic," he added.

The Water Company of The Year award is an honour and a testament of how Metito is emerging stronger and growing steadily across markets and the full spectrum of the water and wastewater industry," he stated.

"We look forward to further collaborating with our growing ecosystem of partners and clients to develop, maintain and secure critical water and alternative energy infrastructure, sustainable sources and pioneering technologies and projects," added Ghandour.

Lauding Metito for the recognition, GWI Publisher Christopher Gasson said: "Over the years, it has successfully transformed into one of the most ambitious water concession developers globally with operations across Asia, Africa and Europe."

"This year’s winners including Metito, succeeded despite, or perhaps because of, the extremely difficult circumstances of 2020 and we believe it is essential that we recognise their achievements," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
