Abvent releases free BIM Track plug-in for EMEA market

DUBAI, November 28, 2020

Abvent, a French developer of innovative image and design solutions for BIM professionals in the fields of architecture, design, and photography, has announced the latest addition, BIM Track, to its product offering in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region's French and German speaking markets.

A renowned issue-tracking platform for real-time coordination of BIM projects and teams, BIM Track can be accessed via a simple web browser.

Its numerous plug-ins allow the integration into the leading openBIM software packages on the market: Archicad, Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Solibri, and many others. Users of other solutions can also participate in the coordination using openBIM file formats: BCF and IFC, said the statement from Abvent.

BIM Track's secure web platform ensures optimal coordination of projects and teams, providing smoother and faster communication between all participants.

It hosts BIM projects to share with different teams and members and centralizes all the issues they carry - from their notification to their resolution.

BIM Track's secure web platform is Archicad's natural companion. It brings together all participants of an Archicad BIM project: architects, design offices, and engineers work together in a true openBIM ecosystem, the French group stated.

To strengthen this natural bond, Abvent's R&D teams have developed a dedicated plug-in that is offered to all Archicad 23 and 24 users, it added.

Abvent pointed out that its cutting-edge approach to digital imagery had resulted in products and services that are innovative, powerful, and easy-to-use.

The French group develops a family of stand-alone 3D rendering applications especially for architects, designers and urban planners: Twinmotion, an award-winning real-time visualization and 3D immersion software; Artlantis, the rendering tool for physically-precise images and animations and Render, a powerful, fully-integrated rendering engine developed for SketchUp.

Creators, administrators of a BIM Track project, and the team members they invite can coordinate their Archicad BIM projects directly from the Archicad work window, said a company spokesman.

They can identify an issue in just a few clicks, add a comment, ask a question - and assign it to the appropriate project participant (MEP or structural engineer), he stated.

In addition to creating and managing various issues, this plug-in also allows the user to directly publish the latest revision of the model and the associated 2D derivatives (plans, sections) to the BIM Track central platform, he added.
