Aldar unit Khidmah boosts Mideast leadership team

Khidmah, a leading facilities management (FM) and maintenance company in Abu Dhabi and a unit of Aldar Properties, has announced two key appointments - Abdulla Al Wahedi as the new chief executive and Maher Al Aghbar as the executive director.

In his capacity as CEO, Al Wahedi will oversee the implementation and evolution of Khidmah’s offering across multiple geographies and sectors besides growiong the business and ensuring quality enhancement across operations, said the statement from the company.

Al Wahedi brings over two decades of experience in the infrastructure and FM industry to the company and had earlier held a number of high-profile roles where he was responsible for managing all aspects of FM operations and expanding the business.

Prior to joining Khidmah, Al Wahedi worked on iconic projects in the UAE including Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall and gained FM exposure in Saudi Arabia, it stated.

Aldar had recently announced a new strategy for Khidmah to focus on delivering FM and home maintenance services across multiple sectors including residential, education, hospitality, commercial, retail healthcare and government sectors.

The company has since been growing its presence across the UAE and the overall region.

Lauding the appointments, Chairman Jassem Saleh Busaibe said: "We are delighted to welcome Al Wahedi and Al Aghbar to the growing Khidmah family. Both executives bring rich and demonstrated expertise to deliver on Khidmah’s regional growth and portfolio expansion strategy."

In his new role, Al Aghbar will be managing the enforcement of Khidmah’s stringent quality and operational standards across the company’s portfolio to ensure that clients always receive value for their investments.

An industry veteran, he has over 30 years of experience across the FM field. Before this, Al Aghbar  had served in numerous executive positions within the region, the UK and Canada where he was responsible for ensuring all aspects of facilities and services, including planning and operations performed with excellence.

He holds a master's degree in Practical Engineering and is an active member of different professional FM associations, including the Middle East Facilities Management Association (Mefma).

"I am confident that their rich knowledge of the sector will undoubtedly reflect positively on our current and future clients and partners," stated Busaibe.
