Abu Dhabi inks $27.2m dual carriageway contract

ABU DHABI, December 8, 2019

Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) has awarded a Dh100-million ($27.2 million)
contract for the upgradation of a 10-km-long stretch on Saih Shuaib-Al Faya Road (E75) into a dual carriageway in co-ordination with The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi.

The ITC said the move comes in line with the sustainable infrastructure objectives of its Abu Dhabi Plan. That is in addition to symbolising the vision and directions of the government and its strategy of establishing high-quality infrastructure, including the establishment of a roads network that meet the needs of the individuals and society in accordance with highest international standards.

More than 100 workers, engineers and consultants are working on the project, racing against time to complete and hand it over by the end of June, just before the launch of the Expo on October 20.

The scope of work includes development of the stretch from Mohammed bin Rashed Road intersection (E311) to Emirates Road intersection (E611) on the Al Faya-Saih Shuaib Road, which is one of the main trucks roads between Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, said Musanada in its statement.

Once the E75 project gets completed, it will increase the efficiency of the road and facilitate the traffic and transport of goods to and from Abu Dhabi City.

The project will also see the extension of a camel crossing tunnel under pass, and removal of the existing roundabout at Al Ghadeer area besides construction of a new roundabout, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
