Modon completes key supermarket project in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 29 days ago

UAE-based Modon Properties (Modon) said it has completed a supermarket project located in North Riyadh City (formerly known as South Shamkha).

Modon is a development company mandated by the Abu Dhabi government to build vibrant and sustainable communities and develop strategic mixed-use projects in the emirate.

The supermarket was built at Lot 25 in North Riyadh City over a 350 sq m area.

Modon awarded Lulu Group International the operating licence as part of its ongoing cooperation with leading retail brands, designed to meet the needs of residents in North Riyadh City.

The Abu Dhabi developer has also awarded the tender for its retail strip mall project, as a part of the company's plan to build a modern community in North Riyadh City that adheres to the highest sustainability standards.

Located at Lot 23, the retail strip mall will cover 8687 sq m in North Riyadh City, said the statement from Modon.

Upon completion in August next year, the development will boast seven restaurants, 14 stores, and a supermarket that meets the needs of the city’s residents, it added.

Project director Engineer Ahmad Al Hosani said: "The completion of the supermarket and the awarding of the tender for the retail strip mall project highlight the steady, on-schedule progress being made at Riyadh City and our commitment to implementing the highest standards throughout our developments."

"Modon is working tirelessly to develop infrastructure and public facilities in Riyadh City, with the aim of building a modern, integrated community that is in line with the vision of our nation’s wise leadership," stated Al Hosani.

Upon completion, Riyadh City will be among the largest and most iconic residential communities in Abu Dhabi, housing over 200,000 residents.

The development encompasses approximately 8,000 hectares, equivalent to 85 per cent of the land area of Abu Dhabi island. It will feature state-of-the-art facilities including parks, schools, shops, mosques and medical and community centres, said Al Hosani.

The project is a part of Modon’s ongoing efforts to develop vibrant and sustainable communities that deliver an aspirational lifestyle to residents, alongside integrated facilities and infrastructure built to the highest international standards, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
