Oman's largest cement maker Raysut Cement Company has announced plans to set up a new cement grinding unit in the Duqm region of the sultanate at a total investment of around $30 million.

Raysut Cement's board of directors on Tuesday approved the proposal to establish a cement grinding unit in Duqm with a production capacity of 1 million tonne per annum, said the Omani cement major in its filing to the Muscat Securities Market.

The project work is expected to start by the end of this month, it stated.

Recently the Omani group had unveiled plans to set up a cement grinding plant at Barbara, Somaliland, in partnership with MSG Group of Companies at an investment of $40 million.-TradeArabia News Service
