Elsewedy unit wins $18.5m contract from Canal Sugar

Egypt-based Elsewedy Electric for Trading & Distribution (EETD) has signed a new engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth EGP308 million ($18.54 million) to build a transmission line and an internal network for the Canal Sugar Company in Egypt.
 
EETD is a subsidiary of Elsewedy Electric, a leading wires and cables and integrated energy solution provider in the Middle East and Africa.
 
The EPC contract covers:
• Construction of a 180km long internal network of 33 KV with a value of EGP255 million on turnkey basis. The EPC contract will be implemented over a 24-month period commencing from the date of signing the contract and receiving the advance payment; and
• Construction of a 33KV transmission line with a value of EGP52.8 million on turnkey basis. The EPC contract will be implemented over a six-month period commencing from the date of signing the contract and receiving the advance payment. 
 
EETD had signed a contract worth EGP445 million to build a substation and a transmission line for Canal Sugar Company in April this year. With the new contract, the value of all the contracts with Canal Sugar stood at around EGP753 million, Elsewedy Electric said. -TradeArabia News Service
