KEO to design Kuwait Capital Markets Authority HQ

KUWAIT CITY, April 18, 2019

KEO International Consultants, a leader in planning, design, engineering and project management solutions, has won a KD1.89-million ($6.19 million) contract to provide engineering consultancy and design services for the new headquarters of Kuwait's Capital Markets Authority (CMA).

A major player in the region, KEO International Consultants was set up in Kuwait 55 years ago and has been rated by ENR as one of the top 100 global design offices over the past 10 years.

The new building will come up over a sprawling 69,000-sq-m area in the heart of Kuwaiti capital, next to KIA and the CBK building.

The design work on the new CMA headquarters building will completed in 16 months by the Kuwaiti group in collaboration with the international office KPF, said a statement from CMA.

The scope of work involves obtaining the expertise of the local and international engineering office to provide services, engineering consultancy and design of the permanent building, stated Prof Ahmad A. AlMelhem, the chairman of the board of commissioners and managing director at CMA, after signing the deal with Dr Abdul Aziz Sultan, the chairman of KEO.

Chairman of the Steering Committee overseeing the design and construction of the Permanent CMA building Wael Bahbahani said last year a design consultancy contest was held for the project. And out of the 45 that took part, four big engineering firms were selected.

In the final architectural competition conducted by the CMA, KEO International Consultants emerged the winner, stated Bahbahani.

CMA is keen to implement the project during the planned time period, taking into account the quality in the implementation according to specifications and approved engineering plans, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
