DUBAI, April 18, 2019

India's NBCC (formerly National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited) has invited bids from leading Dubai-based companies for the construction of the country's pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai to be held in the city next year.

The mega pavilion will be built at an estimated cost of Dh109.5 million ($30 million), it stated in the tender notification.

The global open percentage rate e-tenders are open to only those companies based in Dubai which have a valid licence or registration from the government, said the Delhi-based company said.

The scope of work includes design, engineering and operation and maintenance of the 4,614-sq-m facility. The last date for submitting the bids is May 10, it added.

The expo will run for six months from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021 in the UAE emirate.

The pavilion aims to showcase India’s strengths in innovation and start-ups in hi-tech areas. It will also exhibit various Indian government’s programmes such as Make in India, Smart Cities, and Digital India, it said.

The main theme of Expo 2020 Dubai is ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’. More than 190 countries have already confirmed their participation in the expo.-TradeArabia News Service
