Leading Dutch dredging group Boskalis Westminster Contracting and its joint venture partner Saudi-based Boskalis Westminster Al Rushaid Company will start the dredging and reclamation works for Phase Two of the North Manama Causeway project and Package One of the Busaiteen Link in Bahrain starting from this week.

These project contracts were awarded to the Boskalis Westminster JV by the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.

The work will commence on Thursday (January 30) and will run for the next eight months, said a notification from the Saudi-based group.

The material dredged from Area-2B will be taken by at trailing suction hopper dredger and then pumped through floating and linker lines, it added.

A major player in the region, Boskalis Westminster Al Rushaid Company is a leading contractor for marinas, ports and harbours besides the land reclamation and dredging works; offshore contracting; engineering consultancy and maintenance services.-TradeArabia News Service
