Ajman launches new mixed-use community project

Ajman Municipality and Planning Department has kicked off the new year with the launch of a new mixed-use facility in a bid to attract residents and tourists and help develop the city into a tourist hub.

The "Ajman Square" project, will boast numerous cafes and restaurants besides a walking track and open-air seating areas for visitors. It is aimed at creating a beautiful image of the emirate, which is confidently developing into a city of tourism, said a senior official.

"The project highlights Ajman’s unique identity and aims to improve its living environment, by raising the emirate’s quality of life," noted Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department.

"The square will enable visitors to practice sports on a walking track and the open-air seating areas will draw the people to one place," he added.

Ismail Al Hosny, the project director, said the square was an outcome of the "Engineering Retreat of the Infrastructure Development Sector," held in 2016 and recommended the launch of various initiatives that will present a new vision of the emirate and key projects that will positively affect residents and visitors, as well as providing a healthy environment as per the best global standards.

The infrastructure development sector recommended the implementation of the "Ajman Pulse Project," which includes a range of projects that highlight the beauty of the emirate and aim to provide ideal services for the entire community, said Al Nuaimi.

The square is the first project that the department will launch, and will be followed by murals and sculpture projects, he said in conclusion, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
