KBR unit seals $900m US defence project contract

HOUSTON, June 19, 2018

KBR, a major engineering, procurement and construction company, said its global government services business, KBRwyle, has been awarded a $900 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Research and Development Center.
As per the deal, the KBR unit will provide rapid solutions to fix problems identified through the Department of Defense's Joint Test and Evaluation (JT&E) Program.
KBRwyle said it had been selected as one of the six prime contractors on this 10-year, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. The US company had earlier secured a seat on the previous JT&E Program contract in 2007.
Under the multi-award contract, KBRwyle will assist the programme in finding new ways for US warfighters to accomplish their missions with today's equipment and processes.
The company will also have the opportunity to bid on task orders issued by the JT&E Program Offices to address and resolve critical warfighter issues.
The JT&E Program brings multiple military services together to improve the joint interoperability of systems, technical and operational concepts, and system performance, and enhance the validation of testing methodologies, models, simulations, and test beds. The program also develops new tactics, techniques, and procedures and rigorously measures the extent to which their use improves operational outcomes.
Utilizing its recognized systems engineering and test and evaluation expertise, KBRwyle's support will include test and evaluation, specialized engineering, cybersecurity, and intelligence.
On the contract win, Byron Bright, President, KBR Government Services US, said: "We are honoured to be selected as a prime on this contract again and take seriously the confidence exhibited by the DoD in choosing us to continue on this important programme."
"We will continue to work with the JT&E Program Office to develop rapid and effective solutions to complex warfighter issues with professionalism, rigor and innovation," he noted.
A specialist in complex and technical services, KBRwyle is a leading systems engineering and integration provider to the US military.
KBRwyle's domain expertise spans over 40 years during which it has supported more than 35 Navy, Army and Air Force programs,, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
