Blaze hits steel factory in Bahrain industrial city

MANAMA, May 23, 2018

A  huge fire ripped through a steel factory at Salman Industrial City in the Hidd area of Bahrain yesterday, but was quickly put out by Civil Defence personnel, reported BNA, citing a senior official.

Director-General of Civil Defence Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Ammer said: "The incident was reported at 5.25am and the teams reached the scene within five minutes and started battling the fire to prevent it from spreading to other parts of the factory and nearby units."

Al Ammer said a total of 17 vehicles were pressed into service along with 74  personnel for this operation and the blaze was quickly controlled. "Shortly after that the cooling operation began," he added.
