Bahrain's key residential project on track

MANAMA, May 10, 2018

Work on the East Hidd Housing Project in the Muharraq area of Bahrain is progressing as per schedule and once completed it will boast more than 4,500 housing units comprising villas and apartments, said a report.

The East Hidd Housing Development is coming up on reclaimed land off the east coast of the Bahrain opposite the existing town of Hidd.

The project's scope of work consists of 4,548 housing units comprising 2,827 villas, 1,212 apartments and 500 plots spread across a 232-hectare site.

The first phase of the project, featuring 487 housing units in two villages B2 and B3, have already been completed, while work is on to complete another 398 housing units in Village B1 and 740 housing units in Village C.

HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa visited the project site yesterday (May 9) and also met a number of citizens there and listened to their needs regarding amenities and infrastructure development, reported BNA.

He was briefed by Minister of Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf, Housing Minister Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar and Muharraq Municipal Council Head and members on the citizens' needs in Hidd and progress of work on various services and development projects there, stated the report.

HRH the Premier directed the ministries and relevant bodies to exert more efforts to speed up implementation of the East Hidd housing project according to the highest quality standards.

He stressed the government’s keenness on boosting citizens’ welfare and catering for their needs and underlined his personal interest in closely following up on citizens’ needs, describing their welfare and the national interests as top priority, said the BNA report.

Interacting with the citizens, HRH the Prime Minister said officials must complete the government projects in Muharraq, including East Hidd region, in time and speedily provide all needed services facilities, including housing, health, education and infrastructure.

He also emphasised Bahrain’s resolve to go ahead with its development projects nationwide according to a comprehensive vision aimed at improving services and boosting citizens’ welfare, it added.
