Real estate sector urged to hire more Emiratis

DUBAI, May 2, 2018

Leading real estate developers and construction companies discussed ways to boost Emiratisation in the  property sector at a key industry event in Dubai, UAE, said a report.

Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, took part in the meeting where officials, representing 60 real estate developers and construction companies, highlighted the mechanisms and procedures they have put in place for hiring Emiratis in the jobs set aside for them, reported state news agency Wam.

It was part of a series of meetings held by the minister with the businesses working in the targeted economic sectors to accelerate the process of employing UAE national cadres in certain qualitative jobs.

The move also comes under the third stage of the UAE Government Accelerators that covers the aviation, transport, telecommunications, technology, real estate development and customer services sectors.

Speaking at the meeting, Al Hamli stressed that the real estate development sector has a very important part to play in realising the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021 that aim at increasing the share of the local people in the private sector to 5 per cent besides shifting 50 per cent of the UAE working force to the private businesses.

"The real estate sector has witnessed a tremendous growth over the last few years and this qualifies it to provide more jobs for the UAE nationals," stated the minister.

"Our visionary leadership is looking at the issue of increasing the share of the UAE nationals in the workforce as a strategic objective a matter that necessitates the cooperation of both the public and private entities in this regard," remarked Al Hamli.

He also lauded the private companies that employed UAE nationals as per the partnership between the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Securities and Commodities Authority, SCA, and the targeted businesses.
