Rexton opens LED light fittings plant in Sharjah

SHARJAH, April 17, 2018

Kingston Holdings, a key manufacturer of electrical products including light fittings and air movement products, said one of its units, Rexton Technologies Middle East, has opened a 80,000-sq-ft LED (light-emiting-diode) manufacturing facility at Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone).

The new unit was inaugurated by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, the chairman of Sharjah Chamber of  Commerce and Industry, and Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, the director of Saif Zone and Hamriyah Freezone along with Lalu Samuel, the chairman and managing director of Kingston Holdings and Rexton Technologies, in the presence of Paul Kavanagh, the smbassador of Ireland to UAE, Nimisha Jayant Madhvani, the ambassador of Uganda to UAE and members of the Australian and Indian consulates and other senior officials.

The new LED facility set up with a total investment of over Dh50 million ($13.6 million) includes a fully integrated and advanced manufacturing unit that is spread across 125,000 sq ft of manufacturing area and boasts a 3000-sq-ft testing lab that specialises in LED light fittings.

As Rexton gears up for providing local and global customers with highly customised lighting solutions for domestic, commercial, industrial and special application lighting, the manufacturing facility and lab will also provide advanced testing facility for customers who wish to evaluate the quality of their LED products.

The new corporate office incorporates eco-friendly techniques, green building concept, fitted with double glazed black colour glass, insulated blocks walls, insulated roofing and external walls covered by composite, white aluminum cladding and green surroundings, PIR, light level sensors and a very advanced chiller unit which detects human presence to activate the air conditioning.

The launch ceremony was also attended by Waleed AbdelRahman Bukhatir, the vice chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce, and its JV partners Michael Lam, the executive director, GP Industries, and Mark Abbott, the managing director, Ansell Lighting.-TradeArabia News Service
