Alimak wins BMU order for China tower

STOCKHOLM, March 12, 2018

Sweden-based Alimak Group, a leader in vertical access solutions for the construction sector, has won an order for a complex building maintenance unit (BMU) system to be placed at the Haitian Center which will be the tallest building in Qingdao, China.

The order was placed by Qingdao Conson Development Group with Alimak Group’s CoxGomyl.

The project covers design, manufacturing, installation, testing and commissioning of seven sets of BMUs with an order value of approximately 48 million Swedish kroner ($5.8 million). This is the first project CoxGomyl has been awarded from Qingdao Conson.

The Haitian Center will consist of three towers, with the tallest being 369 metres, and include two five-star hotels, a commercial centre, museum and apartments as well as a major convention centre.

The project will begin immediately and is expected to finish around the end of 2019.

CoxGomyl’s extensive track record of BMU installations on buildings over 300 metres in China was an important merit in the tender process.

“We are very pleased to deliver the systems to Haitian Center. Alimak Group has installed BMUs at 11 of the 12 tallest buildings in the world and this order is a further recognition of our leading building maintenance solutions which are custom designed to support reliable, safe and efficient access to complex structures,” said Tormod Gunleiksrud, CEO Alimak Group. – TradeArabia News Service
