German glass manufacturer sedak gears up for Big 5

DUBAI, November 9, 2017

Leading German glass manufacturer sedak is set to showcase its new IGU product line “sedak isomax” with a Ug-value up to 0.23 W/sq m, and an example of an all-glass-façade construction at the upcoming Big 5 construction expo in Dubai, UAE.

The company, founded at Gersthofen, Germany, in 2007, is one of the world’s leading technology and
innovation experts for large insulating and safety glass.

With 10 years of experience in manufacturing oversize glass and after having increased the level of automation continuously, sedak is regarded as a specialist in thissegment, said the company in a statement.

At The Big 5, the biggest construction event in the Middle East, the German group will show what is possible with glass in the 21st century. The event will be attended by 300,000 suppliers and buyers of construction products from 120 countries.

With two exhibits, sedak will demonstrate its high-level production competence. Additionally, visitors can
catch up on sedak’s latest announcement to produce “the world’s biggest glass” panel measuring to 3.51 m x 20 m by 2018, said the statement.

As an innovation leader for large formats and special solutions, sedak has been developing high production technology and has established itself as full supplier for glass up to 16.5 m.

It has a number of projects to its credit including current ones such as UNO in Geneva, the Apple headquarters in Cupertino, and the House of European History in Brussels.

Since 2007, the Bavarian manufacturer has fabricated oversize glass in a highly automated process and has constantly invested in its own research and development wing. In 2017, sedak has set a new milestone with a second tempering furnace that processes oversize pre-coated glass.

From mid-2018, sedak said it will be able to produce glass in the dimensions of 3.51 m x 20 m, it added.

Itss core capabilities are the lamination of glass, edging, and producing glass components with additional functional and decorative elements, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
