Al Shirawi FM wins Dubai IHC contract

DUBAI, October 17, 2017

Al Shirawi FM, an integrated facilities management services company, has been awarded a contract to provide specialised services at International Humanitarian City (IHC) in Dubai Industrial City.

The new contract award reflects the company’s growing reputation in the commercial facilities sector, said a statement from Al Shirawi FM.

Its scope of work under the new contract covers complete MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing), specialised services management and housekeeping.

On the contract win, CEO Navin Valrani said: "Al Shirawi FM is clearly emerging as one of the largest companies in this sector today with several projects added to our portfolio recently."

"Our strength is our qualified workforce. We are agile and able to quickly mobilise our staff, which is in excess of 2,000, for large-scale commercial developments such as IHC," he noted.

The company, he stated, has been managing the entire 58 million sq m of Dubai Industrial City for over seven years.

This vast mixed-use development comprises several commercial buildings, over 1,000 warehouses, 120 showrooms, 22 labour camps and the entire infrastructure that surrounds it, noted Valrani.

The Business Village of the Department of Economic Development, where Al Shirawi has been providing services for more than seven years, and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industries’ (DCCI) property are some of the company’s other active contracts that highlight its experience in managing highly sensitive commercial environments with high-profile visitors and tenants, he added.

Evie Boustantzi, the general manager, Al Shirawi FM, said: "Our expertise in MEP and specialist jobs enables us to efficiently manage commercial projects. As a standard, we ensure a reduction in operational costs through responsive engineering services and strive towards a reduction in energy consumption through absolute mindfulness for our client’s needs."

"We are really looking forward to serving our new clients with the same passion and commitment as always," noted Boustantzi.

The IHC serves as a commercial and logistics centre for the distribution of humanitarian aid and hosts over nine United Nations agencies, over 40 NGOs, several Intergovernmental organisations and commercial entities.

It accepts delegates from across the globe, on a daily basis. The contract will require Al Shirawi FM to bank on its hospitality and engineering expertise to ensure seamless and smooth operations here, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
