HLG lands $168m Dubai Expo 2020 projects

DUBAI, July 11, 2017

UAE‐based HLG Contracting has been awarded a Dh619-million ($168 million) contract by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) for the construction of the Expo Village Parcels 10 and 11 residential towers.

As per the deal, HLG will be responsible for the construction of five 16-storey towers on the development with a total built-up area of 155,000 sq m. Of these, three are co-joined through a mutual three-storey podium while the other two are also co-joined through a shared three-storey podium.

The scope of work includes the setting up of concrete frames, masonry, facades, fit-out, external works, and provisional sums for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems, wardrobes, kitchens, timber doors, lifts and façade cleaning system, said HLG in a statement.

Construction will begin soon on the project and will be completed by the middle of 2019, in time to host guests and participants from the countries participating in Expo 2020 Dubai, which opens in October, it added.
