Construction work starts on iconic Bee’ah HQ

SHARJAH, June 18, 2017

Construction work has started in Sharjah, UAE, on the iconic headquarters of Bee’ah,  the Middle East’s fully integrated environmental and waste management company.

A vision of the late architectural genius Zaha Hadid, the Bee’ah headquarters' building design is inspired by the sand dunes around it "and has been designed to be as environmentally responsible as is possible," said a company spokesman.

The company's new building "is a feat of architectural ingenuity in design, a model for sustainability in execution and an exemplar for optimum working conditions and productive visitor interactivity."

Designed by Zaha Hadid and her team back in 2013, the 'fully green' project is futuristic, unique and an embodiment of Bee’ah’s spirit and commitment towards environment-friendly practices.

Powered by renewable energy, the building stands out in its optimum use of resources, while becoming one with the magnificent desert, through the fluidity of its composition, the spokesman explained.

The contract worth tens of millions of dollars to build a revolutionary environmental building in Sharjah, was secured by Carillion with the support from UK Export Finance (UKEF).

The new headquarters is expected to be operational by 2018, while it is set to be powered 100 per cent by renewable energy by 2021.-TradeArabia News Service
