Over 115 road projects under way in Oman

MUSCAT, June 4, 2017

About 77 interchanges and 41 bridges are under implementation in different governorates of Oman this year, a media report quoted the Ministry of Transport and Communications as saying.

The projects being implemented this year include 23 flyovers, 67 underpasses, 34 pedestrian bridges and more than 2,900 viaducts, Oman Observer reported.

The first phase and part of the second phase of the 200-km Bidbid-Sur road project and 181-km Sinaw-Mahout road as well as the Mirbat-Hasik road rehabilitation project are expected to be completed in this year, according to the ministry.

A total of 93 km of the Al Batinah Expressway have been opened and the entire road spanning 282.5 km will be open to traffic this year, the report said, citing the ministry.
