MANAMA, December 1, 2016

Work has begun on the construction of an entrance to Block 1034 in Malkiya and the environs at the Northern Governorate of Bahrain, said a statement from Ministry of Works, Municipalities & Urban Planning.

This comes as part of Dirt Roads Program, a government initiative to improve infrastructure in the kingdom besides giving priority to the paving of dirt roads in urban areas and creating an integrated roads network in all areas across the kingdom,  explained Sayyed Bader Alawi, the director of Bahrain Roads Projects & Maintenance at the ministry.

The works include paving a 1.2-km-long road, implementing ground channels for present and future use besides a storm water drainage network and installation of a new lighting network, painting works and signage.

The BD203,593 ($536,223) project, which has been awarded to Al Wardi Contracting, will cater to 90 housing units, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
