Dubai Sports City inks waste management deal

DUBAI, October 20, 2016

Dubai Sports City (DSC), a major sport-inspired community offering a mix of residential, retail and leisure facilities, has renewed its contract with Dulsco to provide waste management services across all its properties, academies and villages.

A leading waste management company in the region, Dulsco said the contract will also include the master community, The ELS Club, Academies Residence, ICC Headquarters, VH Primary School, Wonder Years Nursery, BPA School, The Cycle Hub, Kickers & Champs Bistro and Fit Republik, among other properties and several other residential towers with in the community.

In addition, Dulsco will continue to provide waste management and recycling services for the Victory Heights villas. This includes the implementation of door-to-door waste collection and a community recycling programme, with the aim of diverting recyclables from landfills, stated the company.

The Victory Heights community is part of DSC with more than 1,000 residential villas and retail units, supermarkets and other social amenities for the residents.

An innovative approach has been designed and deployed by Dulsco to ensure that the entire community is made aware of the changes in the waste collection policy and the recycling initiatives. Dulsco has a 24/7 customer care desk; dedicated account manager; innovative recycling solutions and a dedicated supervisor.

The DSC move come as part of its waste management and recycling drive, said a top official.

"Recycling and waste management is a big responsibility and we wanted to work with an experienced partner to address our requirements," remarked Kevin J Brennan, the general manager facilities for DSC.

"We have been working with Dulsco over the years and we are delighted to expand the scope of our relationship and leverage their services for implementing efficient waste management framework within our community. The type of waste collected from each of our properties will be different and it will require a specific mode of treatment. We are confident that Dulsco will guide us through this massive waste management and recycling exercise," he noted.

On the partnership, Madhumohan, the director for waste management at Dulsco, said: "We have been deploying a well thought through and customised waste management and recycling strategy in a large entity like DSC. This is a great success story for us and we will bring in our years of experience to the property and efficiently address all their waste management and recycling needs."

Dulsco is the only waste management company and among very few human resources (HR) solution providers in the region to be awarded the Superbrand status for the second consecutive year, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
