Bahrain completes new service road project

MANAMA, October 1, 2016

Work has been completed on a new 2.2-km-long service road along Salmabad Avenue in Bahrain as part of the government's plans to boost the kingdom's infrastructure.

The BD309,713 ($808,502) project leading to Road 1206 in Block 712  at the Northern Governorate has been completed by Jahicon Engineering, said a statement from the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.

The scope of work included levelling and reclamation works, implementing ground channels for future usage, constructing a stormwater drainage network, constructing pavements, signage and roadmarking for the safety of road users.

Roads projects and maintenance director at the ministry Sayyed Bader Alawi said the project was included within the ministry’s plan to improve the infrastructure services and accommodate citizens’ needs in co-ordination with the concerned municipal council.-TradeArabia News Service
