Hotels urged to adopt latest district cooling systems

DUBAI, September 18, 2016

UAE-based Empower has called upon the hotel industry to adopt the latest district cooling systems in a big way in order to help boost the hospitality and tourism sector while saving the natural resources.

A major district cooling services provider in the world, Empower said the hospitality sector was dependent on various luxury services in which cooling services play an active part.

"The hospitality industry in Dubai is more aware of the importance of district cooling as 13 per cent of the buildings connected to our services are hotels," stated Ahmad Bin Shafar, the chief executive of Empower.

"By adopting district cooling systems, hotels can focus on their core business and let us handle what we specialise in," said the company head at the ongoing Hotel Show in Dubai.

The show, which kicked off on Saturday (September 17) is a prestigious platform in the hotel industry, restaurants, cafeterias and hospitality services in the Middle East and Africa region, where exhibitors from 48 countries are showcasing their latest products and technologies, equipment and numerous related services for hotel and hospitality sectors.

The show also holds a number of seminars featuring more than 135 experts discussing major challenges facing the industry, and ways to improve services and boost inflow of visitors and tourists.

"We are pleased to use the Hotel Show, one of the largest platforms in the hospitality sector, to highlight the latest district cooling technologies within the hotel and tourism sector before leading players from the sector for their current and future projects," stated Bin Shafar.

Highlighting the edge of district cooling over traditional technologies, he said: "On top of financial savings in installation and commissioning work, district cooling can result in 50 per cent reduction in energy cost when compared to conventional cooling means."

Bin Shafar expressed full confidence in the future of the district cooling industry with the hospitality industry. This is reflected in the success of Empower’s strategy of spreading the use of district cooling.

"Our equipment does not need to be replaced too frequently compared to traditional air-conditioning. Considering the reliability standards, Empower uses sophisticated equipment ready for action in emergency cases," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
