Event to showcase latest in smart cities, transportation

DUBAI, July 20, 2016

The latest in smart cities and transportation technologies will be showcased at a major exhibition in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in October.

Natrans Expo 2016 will be held on October 25 and 26 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) under the patronage of Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuami, Minister of Infrastructure Development and chairman of the Federal Transport Authority – Land and Maritime, UAE.

The two-day event will feature the most advanced technologies across a wide range of applications in today’s smart cities -- road and traffic, smart parking solutions, automatic incident and real time traffic telemetry, signals, nationwide interoperable ETC systems, metro and rail infrastructure projects, maritime and ports, security solutions to green city buses and autonomous vehicles.

Industry leaders such as Honeywell, Mitsubishi, Hyperloop, Fybr, Lean Park, Omnix International and many more will showcase their latest innovations and solutions at the event that aims to offer the right combination of inter-industry collaboration and public and private sector investment that will drive growth and ultimately improve access and quality of the region’s infrastructure, said a statement.

Omnix International will be showcasing its autonomous vehicle EZ10 which was jointly built with Easy Mile.

Mamoun Arsan, general manager of Omnix International, said: “EZ10 is a battery-powered electric vehicle that moves in both directions because it has no specific front or rear, and can run up to four hours with AC on a single charge, while without AC it can run for up to 10 hours.  We believe that Natrans Expo is the perfect venue for showcasing EZ10 and our other solutions for smart transportation and smart cities".

Two technical conferences will be running parallel to the event. One conference will discuss sustainable transportation and the other will be dedicated to IoT in transportation. The conferences aim to be the industry’s meeting point for all top transport professionals. It will deliver a diverse line up of industry experts, academics and market leaders with more than 75 speakers from 30 countries and over 300 delegates.

Both conferences will discuss the very latest in the future of transportation systems. Key topics include: Smart Infrastructure, Future of Parking, Smart Ports and Planes, Hyperloop, walkability, IoT implementation and the 2030 vision, to name a few.
