Bahrain completes key sewerage network

MANAMA, July 2, 2016

Bahrain's Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has completed the implementation of a sewerage project in Demistan area of the kingdom connecting 24 housing units to the network.

The BD195,000 ($513,536) project, which included extending 1,006 m of main connections and 315 m of sub-connections, was awarded to Abdul Hadi Al Afu, stated the sanitary engineering assistant undersecretary at the ministry.

It also involved the construction of 50 inspection chambers for both the main and sub-connections at Demistan Block 1019.

Elsewhere, the ministry has announced the successful completion of a stormwater drainage project in Hoora and Gudaibiya areas and stated that 85 per cent of the road works at the First Constituency is over.    

Also there were plans to revamp Road 1805 in Block 318, unify the access and exit on the road close to Kuwaiti Building leading to Manama Cemetery, provide more parking spaces and pavements to alleviate congestion in the area.

Also the ministry was studying the proposal for the revamping of Road 709 (Hoorat Al Haddadah) in Block 307 opposite to Al Mamoon School and Road 2115 in Block 321 (behind Awafi Supermarket) besides the re-designing of the road nearby Ahmed Al Omran School, and a number of other proposals.-TradeArabia News Service
