Timmons ... new role.

Al Naboodah Construction names new CEO

DUBAI, June 19, 2016

UAE-based Al Naboodah Construction Group (ANCG) has appointed current chief operating officer Colin Timmons as the CEO of the company.

This follows the stepping down of chief executive officer Steve Lever from July 1 to assume a strategic advisory role to the company.

Lever’s three-decade contribution to the Middle East’s construction industry has seen him play an influential role in the direction of the sector and ultimately the success of the Al Naboodah Construction Group, a statement said, adding that he will continue to advise the group in 2017 as required.

Paul O’Flaherty, Group CEO at Al Naboodah Group Enterprises (the holding company of ANCG), said: “Under Steve’s leadership, the group has positioned itself as one of the most recognised and trusted construction firms in the region, with a reputation for delivering the most prestigious, highly complex and challenging projects – on time and within budget.”

During Lever’s tenure, the group helped place Dubai on the global map with numerous landmark projects, notably the construction and expansion of Dubai International and Dubai World Central airports, widely recognised as being at the forefront of global airport infrastructure.

As CEO, Lever has been responsible for the expansion of the company into new markets, growth of the workforce to more than 13,000 employees, and development of the company’s in-house facilities, which has significantly increased the Group’s ability to self-deliver on its key projects.

Over the coming months, Lever will move into a transition role to oversee work in Qatar and continue to manage key clients in the UAE during this period. Incoming CEO Timmons will formally take over full responsibility for leading and managing the Al Naboodah Construction Group from July 1.

“Colin’s transition to the CEO role comes after joining Al Naboodah Construction as COO earlier this year in terms of our pro-active succession planning. He has held a number of senior roles with major UK-based construction companies, and for the last five years has been general manager in Abu Dhabi for Al Faraa General Contracting Company,” O’Flaherty said.

“Colin has been at the forefront of the global construction industry for many years and his leadership and vision will see the Group continue to achieve the strategy laid out by Steve. The forecast for the next year is highly positive and Colin’s leadership will ensure we can continue to remain synonymous with delivering world-leading construction projects.”  - TradeArabia News Service
