L&T wins $370m Petroleum Development Oman deals

MUMBAI, April 12, 2016

Indian engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said one of its subsidiaries has won orders worth $370 million from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).

The new order wins by L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering include engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of Saih Nihaydah Depletion Compression Phase Two (SNDC2) project and Kauther Depletion Compression Phase Two (KDC2), according to an L&T statement.

Saih Nihaydah Field, located in central Oman, has been producing via the Saih Nihaydah Gas Plant (SNGP) which was commissioned in 2005, while Kauther Gas Plant (KGP) is located 120 km away from Saih Rawl-CPP, Oman.

These projects are being implemented to overcome pressure depletion and maintain potential in order to sustain production, it added.

According to L&T, its hydrocarbon engineering unit has already executed three projects for PDO including the $150-million Lekhwair Gas Field Development Project; the $235-million Saih Rawl Depletion Compression Project (SRDC2) and the $240-million Yibal Third Stage Depletion Compression (Y3DC).

PDO, the leading exploration and production company in Oman, accounts for more than 70 per cent of the country's crude-oil production and nearly all of its natural gas supply.

It is owned by the government of Oman (which has a 60 per cent interest), Royal Dutch Shell (34 per cent), Total (four per cent) and Partex (two per cent).-TradeArabia News Service
