Qatar working on designs of 65 new parks

DOHA, December 31, 2015

Qatar government is working on the designs of 65 new public parks which will be built in different municipalities across the country, said a report.

The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) is also earmarking plots of land for building new parks in those areas which do not have recreation facilities, reported The Peninsula, citing a senior official.

“We are preparing designs for 65 new public parks in different municipalities,” remarked Mohammed Ali Al Khori, the director of Public Parks at the MMUP.

According to him, these parks are in different stages of study and design.

"The department is also surveying areas which have no public parks in co-ordination with the authorities concerned to earmark plots of land to build parks," he stated.

“Our aim is to cover all municipalities and provide amenities to all the people living in the country,” he added.
