Germany-based ILF Consulting said it has been awarded the owner’s engineer contract by UAE-based Shuaa Energy for a 200MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant project in Dubai.

A leading engineering consultant for solar power and desert environments, ILF said the Shuaa 1 project is part of the second phase of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar park, one of the largest strategic independent power producer projects worldwide in renewable energy.

The park is aiming at a 1,000 MW production capacity by 2020 and 3,000MW by 2030.

The power purchase agreement (PPA) for the project between Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) and a consortium led by Acwa Power has already been signed in March.

Already during first phase of the development of Dubai’s solar program ILF has provided the OE services for  Dewa’s 13 MW PV pilot project.-TradeArabia News Service
