DI sees solid growth amid Gulf construction boom

Dubai Investments (DI) said it is targeting increased market share for its innovative and diversified product portfolio in the building materials sector amid the current construction boom in the GCC region.

A leading investment conglomerate listed on the Dubai Financial Market, Dubai Investments will be making a mark with its strong presence in The Big 5 exhibition, the largest event for the building and construction industry in the Middle East.

The participation of DI is part of its strategy to further expand its footprint locally and regionally.

Amidst large-scale construction currently under way in the GCC - with a recent list of the top 30 projects alone valued at over $340 billion - Dubai Investments is eyeing massive growth opportunities, backed by its cutting-edge technology and decades of expertise across its 16 subsidiaries engaged in the manufacturing of building materials and construction products.

The Dubai conglomerate, which is marking its 20th anniversary in 2015, will showcase products from its five subsidiaries – Emirates Insolaire, Emirates Glass, Saudi American Glass, Emirates Building Systems and Dubai Cranes and Technical Services.

Abdulaziz Bin Yagub Al Serkal, the general manager, said: "DI is one of the leading companies in the regional construction sector and its subsidiaries already have a strong presence in the UAE and GCC markets. The participation in the Big 5 is an opportunity to showcase its capabilities, innovation and expertise across diverse sectors, and tap into partnership opportunities with different companies."

Among the innovations on show from the group include a first-of-its-kind coloured solar panels from Emirates Insolaire, revealed Al Serkal.
 
The coloured panels, manufactured with the world’s first Kromatix technology, are on high on demand since Emirates Insolaire started production late last year, he added.

Both Emirates Glass and Saudi American Glass are showcasing their range of glass products for applications across various industries including the energy-efficient Solite Series, the post-temperable E-Lite Series, solar control coating solutions, flat glass and the innovative Smart Glass technology which allows instant privacy at the flick of a switch.

Its other unit, Emirates Building Systems will be displaying its hot rolled and pre-engineered building structures, alongside its established and diversified portfolio of structures for offices, residences, high-rise towers and other commercial, institutional and industrial buildings, power and desalination plants, as well as various structures for the oil and gas industry, said the top official.

Dubai Cranes is showcasing its comprehensive range of technologically-advanced overhead material handling equipment – including wire rope hoists, industrial cranes and explosion-proof cranes at the exhibition, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
