Big 5 Kuwait opens with 200 exhibitors

KUWAIT, September 14, 2015

The Big 5 Kuwait, the country’s largest building and construction exhibition, opened today (September 14) with the participation of more than 200 regional and international exhibitors representing more than 24 countries.

The third edition of the event was inaugurated by Emad Ahmad Tifouni, chairman, Kuwait International Fair Company, Hussain Al-Kharafai, chairman of the board in KIU and Mohammed Fahhad Al Ajmi, acting general director of the Public Authority for Industry.

The show will run until September 16 at the Kuwait International Fair.

This year’s edition features a new, dedicated zone for building interiors products and a bigger and an open-air Plant, Machinery and Vehicles Zone.

The event will showcase for the first time in Kuwait the performance of diggers (backhoes) famous throughout the world as ‘Dancing Digger Show’. JCB Middle East, a leader in construction machinery, has tied with its local partner, Riham General Trading Company, to present the stunning performance.

Ashley Roberts, event director - The Big 5 Kuwait, said: “The Big 5 Kuwait has grown significantly in size and volume in the last three years. The presence of senior-level officials from the public and private sectors along with leading exhibitors reinforces the importance of the show in Kuwait’s burgeoning construction sector. To complement this development and in response to visitor feedback, we aim to offer a wide variety of products, technologies and related services.”

Aside from an extensive display of new and innovative products related to the construction sector, the event will feature 20 free-to-attend continuing professional development (CPD) workshops unlike last year’s training courses. Delivered by industry professionals, CPD-certified workshops have been tripled from the previous year to offer high quality training content for professional growth and development.

Among the important workshops to be held during the first day are ‘Renewable Energy Integration onto Buildings: Optimisation and the Impact of Good HVAC Design,’ ‘Introduction to Project Management’, ‘New Trends and Innovations in Interior Design,’ and ‘BIM Modelling and Application.

The free certified workshops designed for three days will continue to offer deeper insights about the latest trends and innovation in the construction market as well as the requirements of the local industry. – TradeArabia News Service
