Tilal City ... transforming the realty market in Sharjah.

Tilal City 'to be game changer for UAE real estate'

DUBAI, September 10, 2015

The Tilal City project is set to become a game changer for the real estate sector in Sharjah and the wider UAE amid growing demand for modern and affordable housing, said a leading regional developer.

"The project is one of the most exciting developments not only in Sharjah but in the UAE. Considering Sharjah has always been a popular choice of residence for families in the UAE and for people from across the GCC region in view of its celebration of family values, tradition and culture, this flagship project by Tilal Properties is truly special," remarked its chairman Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi.

"It couldn’t have come at a better time as it caters to the rapidly rising demand for housing in the emirate, keeping with the highest international standards in terms of modern amenities, convenience and aesthetics," said Sheikh Sultan, while speaking on the sidelines of Cityscape Global in Dubai.

Tilal Properties is showcasing its flagship Dh2.4-billion ($653 million) Tilal City development at the expo.

The first-of-its-kind Tilal City mixed-use development includes 1,855 land plots, offering GCC nationals and UAE residents for the first time an opportunity to buy or lease land and develop properties in Sharjah.

Sheikh Sultan said the project had been well received by the industry and residents of both Sharjah and the UAE.

Coming up on the Emirates Road or Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, the Tilal City is set to transform the realty market in Sharjah. The Tilal City development project has been classified into five zones (A-E).

“And I am confident that it will have a far-reaching impact on real estate development in the emirate, invigorating it further. I have been closely following and monitoring the progress of the project myself and it is wonderful to see the fast pace of the growth. The completion of the initial roadworks marks significant progress for the project,” he added.

Khalifa Al Shaibani, the director general, said: "Tilal City is the largest development project we have undertaken in the region and we are very pleased with the progress made on the site so far. With the initial roadworks now completed, we are on track to handover the first plots to owners in 2016 as per project schedule."

"The idea is to create high quality and sustainable mixed-use neighbourhoods in Sharjah which offer a better quality of life for residents and visitors," he added.

According to him, the completion of the initial phase paves the way for the installation of sewage and water pipelines as well as cable laying for electricity. Once these activities are completed, work will begin on demarcation of the plots.

“It is a truly unique development in that developers are responsible for providing all the utilities and key infrastructure, which is a first for this sort of development in the emirate,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
