Oman .. to develop key infrastructure.

Oman awards $274m construction contracts

MUSCAT, July 16, 2015

Omani government on Wednesday (July 15) awarded projects worth RO105.7 million ($274 million) including the construction of infrastructure at the new residential area in the Wilayat of Liwa in North Al Batinah Governorate. Other projects include a TV digital transmission facility for the Public Authority for Radio and TV and supply of surgical materials for the Ministry of Health.

Also awarded were additional works for the supply and installation of standard equipment for Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport, as well as the other domestic airports; reported the Oman Observer.

Other works include the design and construction of internal roads in the areas north of the ring road in Salalah in Dhofar Governorate; construction of the technologies centre at the College of Applied Sciences in Nizwa and for the provision of regular maintenance services, the report added.

In addition, the Tender Board has awarded additional works to provide software licences for Microsoft for the schools of the Ministry of Education for 2015/2016 and lease contracts for the building of the Public Authority for SMEs Development and for the Public Authority for Manpower Register in Muscat.
