New hotel project to come up at the East Crescent of Palm Jumeirah.

Piling work completed on R Hotels’ Dubai property

DUBAI, May 31, 2015

R Hotels, a leading operator of hospitality projects across the UAE, has announced the completion of piling and foundation work at its new property in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.

It is the hospitality management division of Ajman-based R Holding, a multi-faceted business group based in the UAE. Its diversified business portfolio includes businesses such as real estate development, construction, hospitality and leisure, retail and higher education.

Located at the East Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, R Hotels’ new Dh10-million ($2.7 million) hotel and resort project is expected to open in the last quarter of 2016.

It is set to be the first four-star and sharia-compliant hotel and resort at the renowned upmarket destination and will feature 253 rooms, a holistic wellness centre, two restaurants and family-friendly recreational facilities, said a statement from the company.

R Hotels completed the piling and foundation work in partnership with Tech Group, the project contractor.

Tech Group has completed the piling and groundwork of the project two weeks ahead of the deadline. The second phase of the construction of the 30,000-sq-m resort complex is expected to start by June 2015, said a top official.

"With the total investment of Dh500 million ($136 million), our property at The Palm is one of our biggest development projects to date," remarked Samir Arora, the VP for operations at R Hotels.

"Tech Group has done a great job on the project and now that the foundation has been completed, we expect to gain pace in the next stages of the project," he said.

R Hotels’ new hotel and resort, which was first announced in November 2014, will be the group’s sixth property in the UAE.

Tech Group CEO Shiraz Hasan said: "Our business unit has worked diligently and closely with R Hotels team to complete the assigned task well within time. Since we are expanding our network of operations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, this project will serve as a significant milestone for Tech Group in the times to come."

Arora said the UAE, particularly the emirate of Dubai, has witnessed significant growth in the hospitality industry, as confirmed by the surge of tourists and additional number of rooms in the pipeline.

"R Hotels aims to maximise this opportunity by offering reasonably-priced yet high-quality hospitality product to the growing and diverse markets in the emirate," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
