UAE-based private developer Nshama said it has awarded the first phase deep services contract for the Town Square, an upcoming stylish, green project in Dubai, UAE, to Saudi-based Binladin Contracting Group.

Located in New Dubai near Al Barsha, Town Square is a vibrant 31-million-sq-ft development anchored by a central square - the size of 16 football fields - and featuring a range of lifestyle choices including Vida Town Square Dubai hotel and a Reel Cinemas cineplex and open-air cinema.

In addition to a 2.5-million-sq-ft retail precinct featuring more than 600 stores and food and beverage (F&B) outlets, Town Square also offers day-care facilities, playgrounds, play zones for all ages, swimming pools, fitness centre, athletic spa, interactive water features, skate parks, playgrounds, adventure zones, modern medical facilities and splash parks.

The deep service contract, to be executed in 180 days, covers excavation and backfilling for a district cooling piping network, storm drainage and main sewers, across the area that includes the recently launched Zahra and Hayat Townhouse communities, said the company in a statement.

Nshama had recently marked the launch of the Zahra and Hayat Townhouses and Zahra Apartments. While the Zahra Apartments start at Dh349,988 ($95,266), Zahra and Hayat Townhouses are being offered at a price point starting at Dh999,988 ($272,195) for three-bedroom homes, it stated.

With this deal, Town Square, the first-of-its-kind smartly designed, stylish, green neighbourhood in Dubai by Nshama, is taking concrete shape for on-schedule delivery of its first phase residential communities, said a senior official.

"Town Square is distinguished by an unmatched value proposition that enables people to shift from a rental model to an own-home lifestyle through thoughtfully designed residences that come at affordable price points," remarked Nshama CEO Fred Durie.

"We are committed to delivering the projects as per schedule, highlighted by the contract awarded for undertaking deep services. Town Square is located in close proximity to Arabian Ranches Golf Course, Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club and Al Maktoum International Airport, near the site for the World Expo 2020.

It will feature more than 3,000 townhouses and over 18,000 apartments as well as substantial retail, hospitality and commercial space. It has a high land-to-building ratio, with more open spaces for a greener community.-TradeArabia News Service
