Al Khail Avenue ... a retail, dining and entertainment hub in Dubai.

Nakheel floats tender for new Dubai mall project

DUBAI, March 22, 2015

Leading developer Nakheel has issued a fresh tender for the enabling works at Al Khail Avenue, its new 3.6 million sq ft retail, dining and entertainment hub at Dubai’s Jumeirah Village Triangle.

The scope of work includes infrastructure services relocation, shoring works and excavation ahead of construction of the new mall, which is scheduled to open in 2018, said the Dubai-based company.

Located alongside Dubai’s Al Khail Road, on the eastern edge of Nakheel’s Jumeirah Village Triangle master community, the development will have 350 shops including a supermarket, department stores and speciality outlets, a multi-screen cinema, entertainment zone and a diverse range of cafes and restaurants including al fresco dining.

There will also be a multi-storey car park spread over nearly two million sq ft which can accommodate some 4,400 vehicles.

Nakheel said it will be releasing the construction tender by the end of the second quarter.

Al Khail Avenue, one of 10 large-scale developments in Nakheel’s growing retail portfolio, is a new destination for visitors and residents across Dubai, and a convenient, on-the-doorstep shopping and leisure hub for the tens of thousands of people living at Jumeirah Village, Jumeirah Park and other nearby areas.

Nakheel said its current and future retail projects boast over 10 million sq ft of leasable space between them, in the form of upcoming malls and souks at Palm Jumeirah, Deira Islands, Jumeirah Village and Warsan Village; major extensions to Dragon Mart and Ibn Battuta; and six neighbourhood retail centres at communities across Dubai.-TradeArabia News Service
